About Me
Hey there, welcome to my site!
I'm José, a 30-year-old Puerto Rican living in the United States. I'm a Software Engineer, who happens to be a musician as a hobby. I primarily focus on remixing classic video game music.
I started making video game music remixes in early 2019, around the time the COVID-19 virus first emerged and threw everyone into quarantine. To keep myself busy during quarantine and not being able to go out much, I decided to start making covers / remixes, mainly based around video games I used to play as a child.
Besides my day-to-day job and recent music career, I started out by streaming on Twitch under the DeadmanPR name in early 2014 as a speedrunner for one of my favorite Mario games of all time, Super Mario 64. However, I had to take a break from 2016 to 2019 to focus on my college degree / university. Once I graduated, I moved to the state of Massachusetts and started streaming again for fun. Before uploading music to Spotify was a thing for me, I uploaded my VGM covers/remixes (and still do) to my Youtube channel. The support I received from my YouTube viewers and friends gave me the final push to start releasing my mixes to Spotify.

Where am I from?
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I lived there for 22 years and moved to the United States after I graduated from university
Languages
I can speak 2 languages: Spanish (native proficiency) and English (full professional proficiency). I'm also learning a bit of Japanese
Studies
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, even though electronics and circuits is not my favorite part (I was always more of a software guy)
Music Origins
I learned music as a child by ear. This was made easier by being blessed with the absolute pitch / pitch perfect ability
Music Studies
While I was in university, I did a minor on Music Composition. One of my goals is to release original music someday
Hobbies
My hobbies consist of: listening to music, creating music, playing video games, and coding / programming
Origin of the name DeadmanPR
Deadman comes from one of the nicknames used for my favorite WWE wrestler of all time: The Undertaker. PR stands for Puerto Rico, my home country
